About Trimbakeshwar Puja Vidhis
Kaal Sarp Dosh Puja
This puja is performed to alleviate the negative effects of Kaal Sarp Dosh, caused when all planets are positioned between Rahu and Ketu in one’s horoscope.
- Preparation:
- Take a holy dip in the Kushavarta Kund, the origin of the Godavari River, for purification.
- Wear clean, white clothing.
- Samagri (Materials):
- Black sesame (til), flowers, milk, ghee, sandalwood paste, and idols of Rahu and Ketu.
- Procedure:
- Worship Lord Shiva with panchamrit abhishek (mixture of milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar).
- Chant the Kaal Sarp Dosh mantras and offer prayers to Rahu and Ketu.
- Perform the havan (fire ritual) to complete the puja.
- Duration: Approximately 2-3 hours.
- Best Day: Nag Panchami or any auspicious day.
Narayan Nagbali Puja
This Puja is done to resolve ancestral curses (pitru dosh) and untimely deaths in the family.
- Preparation:
- Fast a day before and arrive early at the temple.
- Wear traditional attire (men in dhoti and women in saree).
- Samagri:
- Coconut, rice, black sesame seeds, flowers, and dough idols.
- Procedure:
- Narayan Bali: Offer prayers to Lord Vishnu for pacifying departed souls.
- Nag Bali: Offer a dough idol of a snake in the ritual to eliminate sarpa dosh.
- Conduct havan and chant mantras for the blessings of ancestors.
- Duration: 2-3 days.
- Best Day: Amavasya (New Moon) or special tithi.
Mahamrityunjaya Jaap
This powerful jaap is done to seek protection from diseases, accidents, and untimely death.

- Preparation:
- Sit facing east or north in a quiet space.
- Wear fresh, clean clothes.
- Samagri:
- Rudraksha mala, ghee lamp, and panchamrit for offering.
- Procedure:
- Chant the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra:
“Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam, Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat.” - Offer water and bilva leaves to the Shivling during the chant.
- Perform 108 or 11,000 chants (as per priest’s guidance).
- Chant the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra:
Tripindi Shraddha
This puja is done to resolve issues caused by unfulfilled shraddha (ancestral rituals).
- Preparation:
- Take a purifying bath and fast before the ritual.
- Samagri:
- Pind (made from rice and black sesame), ghee, flowers, and holy water.
- Procedure:
- Invoke the ancestors through mantras.
- Offer pind to ancestors and perform tarpan (water offering).
- Conclude with prayers and a havan.

Rudrabhishek Puja
This is a sacred offering to Lord Shiva, performed for health, wealth, and spiritual well-being.
